you know hemingway's quote about bullfighting / mountain climbing / auto racing?

i think he'd have included motorcycle racing if it were happening at time of writing.

Watched a documentary on Guy Martin last night (see below,) I've never watched much coverage from the TT, but I'm blown away. Hard to wrap my brain around the amount of balls these guys have, but I absolutely respect it. Somewhere in the video I remember the statistic that 200-something riders have been killed throughout the event's history, atrocious figure, but equally astonishing that this event still exists. Enjoy...

I watched that documentary a couple months ago, and I was half-and-half about it. While I do absolutely respect those guys for going at it, Guy Martin is definitely an immature douche and it seemed like literally every person they focused on ended the documentary with some sort of serious injury. I wish there had just been more footage of the actual race, although it got kinda hard to watch as the incidents piled up and two guys died.

First thing I ever saw on my dads new hd tv years ago was the isle of man race. It was a weekend of shear terror for my mom as me and pops watched and listened to the howling banshee wails of superbikes go at it in ultra-hd-slow mo.

Based on her reaction and fear we were about to go racing 2 wheelers to our deaths... I still haven't told mom that I have had a bike to this day. That was like 5 years ago or whatever the first year they had the electric bike races was.
