Tried my first weathering job on this hopper, need to rust the wheels and suspension. Ones in background i bought that way many years ago. I said i was probably going to go with Western Maryland. But I do got 4 CSX engines and with the price of the Western Maryland engines, i can get more CSX cars then i could with the money spent on a engine. I know i'm probably doing everything backwards lol. But thats what i do best sometimes!

That car isnt that bad. Have you thought about Upgrading the Trucks/couplers? Add a coal load?

I think i got this stuff about 10-12 years ago. I haven't looked into what to do to these for upgrades. And as for coal loads, I got some older hoppers with a load in them but its a fake load. It just sits in the hopper to give an illusion of a load. I'm guessing i got to go with that? Or do i fill it up with fake coal? I'm very n00b at this...

Theres a Few Companys out there that make loads.

Alot of the Newer stuff has loads in it,with decent coupler/trucks.

But you can always upgrade,or if you still have the older run stuff
              theres stuff available.

We design our EasyFit resin coal loads #1210 to drop right in to the Athearn 40' quad hopper.
