Yea, behaving myself will be difficult.

Atleast the speeds will be lower than they are on my z1000 haha.

I miss being able to ride offroad. Granted the street tires wont get much traction but sliding is fun.

The 2003 models have the best 525 engine. Lightest rotating mass. Fast revving. Does it have an electric start? I know some guys have converted theirs to electric start.

Is it a 4 speed? If so, 5th and 6th gear are not hard to add on.

Check for oil leaks and coolant leaks around the water pump.

Make sure all of the electronics work--lights, blinkers, tail light, brake light, high/low, etc.

Ask for maint. history/receipts.

Valves adjustment done today. It was my first time ever adjusting valves on anything. I ordered the Hot Cams shim kit. Everything went smooth, it runs great and starts easily again. New white plastics are on their way.

1 cylinder bike with 3 lobes on the cam? So it must have a variable valve timing system like vtec? Way cool didin't know this was common on bikes. I'm thinking about getting into bikes soon, something like a dual sport or supermoto.

Look closer. Center lobe actuates a forked rocker arm for the two exhaust valves.

Yeah I see how it is now. I thought the exhaust cam was somehow under something. These look easy to work on though.

Well, I got it. It is a blast!



Its got some serious brakes up front.

Well it worked. The 2000 wr400 I built I invested a total of $1600 in. I just traded it flat out for a 2003 klx400 (drz400). Way, WAY better bike for the street.



It just needs new plastics but with that replaced I'm sitting on a high $2k bike. Profit was just made yo!

I don't even know if I could ride a supermoto bike. I'm only 5'5" and 29" inseam. Whats the seat height of a DRZ400SM?

I sold my CRF450R a month or so ago and picked up this beast. 05 KTM 625SMC w/ 4500 miles on it. Super stoked with it. Can't beat the electric start!
