The manifesto is long, but it's the first couple of pages that are so interesting. This guy sounds very sincere and has apparently a lifelong history of honor and integrity.

It is hard to say he is lying when you know things like that can happen to good people.
In this case I think he felt he didn't have a choice but to retaliate how he knows best.

Anybody following this? Who else thinks he isn't a crazy lunatic, but got fed up and blew his gasket.... sucks that he is going after family members though, that's uncalled for.

I just found about this tonight, as it was on the front page of the Friday New York Times. All I read was that article, and I was wondering the same thing. I believe he probably got shafted by LAPD. Not a good enough excuse for killing an innocent woman and two police officers. Edit: Monica Quan, Keith Lawrence an an un-named police officer from Riverside.

Now after reading/skimming his manifesto and this thread, I wonder if the two slain officers were on his list or were random targets just because they had badges. If the LAPD said he was a poor report writer, he surely has improved. He writes clearly and expressively, although he did use the word "confounds" where I think he meant "confines".

I'm afraid the LAPD is not blameless in this tragedy. Hopefully, no one else will be killed.
