Many of you want to believe a "conspiracy theory" regarding his demise, but be logical for a moment . Proper tactical training dictates the safest way to remove a barricaded suspect is to force them from the building. A breach of a barricaded suspect is the last resort as it is the most deadly. Even then, the tactical team needs as much intel about the property before entering (i.e. booby-traps, # of suspects, # of hostages, etc.)
Given Dorner's background and training in military and LE and his willingness to use firearms, the last thing LE would do in this situation would be to enter the cabin. He had already engaged deputies in a gun battle, wounding two, one of which died later.
In this situation, forcing the suspect from the property would be the safest way to extract Dorner. Tear gas is the best tool for the job. Unfortunately, like most explosives, it burns very hot. Like welding torch hot. Most likely, this is what caused the cabin to burn.
Unfortunately, Dorner didn't exit the building and at some point it appears he took his own life. Ironically, I'm sure this played a role in keeping police and fire units from entering. Not knowing if there were booby traps or Dorner's status would be bad news for anyone attempting to enter the cabin. Once the rounds inside the cabin started, "cooking off", further entry by police and fire crews was impossible.
1. They used incindiary tear gas they knew would very well start a fire.
2. If they wanted to smoke him out why push down the walls and let fresh air in?
Not saying he was right but there are some inconsistencies and after lapds actions (shooting innocent people?) he might have been on to something.Driving:1990 325iS, 2007 335i

The guy already killed multiple people and was pretty convincing in his manifesto that he was going to kill as many officer as he could. Hell he just shot 2 deputies moments before. Did you really think he was just going to walk out with his hands above his head? There was a fire fight going on he just happened to die from the actual fire instead of the bullets.

You also appear to be mixing agencies. LAPD had nothing to do with the shootout at the cabin, it's outside their jurisdiction. Several agencies were involved including LA County Sheriff's and Fish and Game Wardens.

super interesting stuff going on...
Dorner is being touted as a Hero, despite the killings throughout many groups.
Before his death, Christopher Dorner inspired an online following of devoted fans who hailed him as a hero, not a killer, CNN reports. Two Facebook pages – “We Stand with Chris Dorner&#…
page after page of support for him on FB too...
he's not going to be forgotten anytime soon that's for sure.Originally posted by flyboyxi have watched my dog lick himself off a few times

What I find disturbing are the comments from people who say, "the cops are being shady", or, "the LAPD are all corrupt". Really? What do you base your information or opinion on? And why would you label an entire organization based on your interaction with a select few (and realistically isolated number) of individuals? Isn't this a form of discrimination?

reveling argument can still be debunked, is that his experience from being on that force stems from the mid 1990's...supposedly nothing has changed?
yet, I could just be feeding myself into the media frenzy...which is what I do.Originally posted by flyboyxi have watched my dog lick himself off a few times
