Okay R3V, Lets fix this thing. 93 Mercury Capri

Okay R3V, let us use our collective internet knowledge to help me get this car started, sold, and out of my fuckin' garage.

Situation: 93 Mercury Capri. Drove the car for around 35k miles, before it mysteriously quit on me. I would be driving down the highway and suddenly the car would die, and then come back, die and come back, and finally just die. (when I say die, it would turn off completely and no RPMs). If I let it cool down a couple of hours it would be fine and I would be on my merry away. That lasted a couple of days, and now it doesn't start at all, just turns over.

What I have replaced/diagnosed: Car gets plenty of gas, not a problem. No Spark at all. Have replaced coil, ecu, distributor(with a known working one), and the ignition module on the distributor, but yet no start.

What the hell is causing my no spark? (PS Slammin' also has no idea)

Im not sure which grounds I would be checking. We tested the coil for power and it was good.

        This thing is ridiculous.

I have a sort of loathing for this car now.

Seriously, need some fresh input on this. I know one of you guys has to be into Capris....

I have had poor ignition from everything from dead battery to poor negative to body ground or even the - terminal being loose.

That is what my *cough* Rover *cough* was doing until I replaced the battery terminals.

but if the battery terminals were shot it wouldn't get any power at all.

                  Lol,

It is also one of the "maintenance" things I did to my xj Saturday...I think it cured my off idle stumble that was intermittently picking my ass.

fuel pump harness? Does it try cranking? or no power? My girlfriend's Dodge Caliber had the harness corode, and only stopped when it was hot out or running for a while.

Mine started and drove, until it would just cut out, remember going to get those seats? Fucker would cut off and on?

Then on the way back from the shooting range, same dealio.

I unno, we never looked at grounds/cables like that.

Not true entirely, you may get enough to crank but not adequately keep it running.

More details please. Does the whole car power down (no lights, radio, etc) or just the engine? Does the tach go to zero?

Fails when hot and then works again after it cools is generally an electrical component.

I am going to refrain from any homosexual remarks regarding this car and it's owner.

I don't think we need to say anything.

Lj has super good questions and points though...and since he can fabricate dizzys from scratch, im gonna say he knows a hell of a lot more than I do about ignition issues...
