LOL, I can't even count the number of times I down-shifted instead of braking... Must. change. controller settings......
FWIW - track looks a bit different between F4 and GT5 (GT5 winning the detail), a few of the turns seem to be tighter in GT5, but at least GT5 allows for a reasonable amount of curbing/dirt usage. While F4 makes it a dirty lap seemingly as soon as tires touch dirt, GT5 tends to let you keep the lap as long as at least 2 tires are touching pavement - basically, GT5 lets you use curbing and a 'real' racing line.

I think if I had driving line on I could get there with a wheel. otherwise I need to figure out where to break and drive the track a little more in the car. 1:43 doesn't seem that out there but it has to be a perfect lap. that 1:45 was only my third lap after not playing for months.
I kept trying to push my car harder and harder to pass my ghost, but once I started to go slower and control my steering better (braking sooner and turning in at the perfect time), I started to go a lot faster through the corners and ended up passing my ghosts.
