I bought a new car for this event, turns out I didn't have a 135 other than the tii. Also, it's worth noting that I have been playing a long time, and beat GT4. Twice. Those endurance races will teach you the course, 4 hours at a time. I also live with another forum member who can check the car out and verify if people really want.

Also, I have to say I'm really impressed at the times people are getting.

GT mode. Should I be using arcade? What's the difference? I've never actually used arcade mode as I'm forever stallone.

                lol @ forever stallone

I forget all the minute differences, but getting your lap invalidated if you go too far off track or ride any walls are some of the differences.

Also, what do you have for all your driving options?

I don't have the attention span I used to have. Ran a few laps and got down to 1:54, then got bored. Lulz

I had changed settings for another race, but just to make sure that's what I was running I just did another few laps with these and ran another 1:43.xxx, so I'm sure that's what I was doing before as well.

Since there is a lot of skepticism surrounding my times, here are some ideas of how I run the course that may, or may not, be useful to others.

Turns 1/2: I take a wide line coming in from the right side and line up where I will go straight and still be close to the curbing, but be on the brakes hard in a straight line through. The biggest mistake I make here is braking too late or not slowing down enough. You really do need to take this at a low speed (slow in fast out). From there, turn in at about 1/2 throttle. You can gradually increase the amount of gas as you're coming out the the turn, feathering the throttle to keep from lighting up the tires.

Turn 3: I'm on the curbing, brake down to 55-60 in 2nd gear, and turn in at the last marker (the little signs off the left side of the track). You can be on partial throttle until you hit the apex, then you can go to 3rd and wide open down the straight. I really just use second gear to make sure I don't come in too hot or accelerate too much too early. Done right you can pick up a lot of time here.

Turn 4: I just tap the brakes a bit to scrub off a little bit of speed and increase the front grip, and turn in where the white part of the curbing starts on the left side. You can be pretty much on throttle all the way through the corner, and should come out doing ~80mph. If you're too aggressive with the inputs you might be sliding here, but as long as you stay on throttle it doesn't affect the time much.

Turn 5: Still not 100% sure on this one, but using a slightly later apex seems to work better for me.

Turn 6: This is probably where I'm picking up some time. As I approach the top of the hill, I just tap the brakes and turn in at the last marker. You can't really see the turn yet and the car will slide a good bit, but you should slide right across the curbing on the inside, and being on throttle (you may have to feather it a bit) hit the track out curbing and continue up the hill

Corkscrew - you're on your own

Next turn (9?): This is another place I'm probably picking up time. Head for the curbing on the right coming out of the corkscrew. When the gear indicator flashes, again I just tap the brakes and turn in on throttle. You can hold a pretty constant radius and may need to play with the throttle a bit at the beginning of the turn, but done right should clip the curbing on the inside right at the apex, and continue to the curbing at track out having been on the throttle pretty much the whole turn.

The last couple turns are pretty much standard, don't think there's much variance in what anyone would do with those. Unless you're taking the last corner in 1st gear, at which point you're slowing down too much.

I hope someone finds something useful in that writeup and can clear my good name!

                        Matt
