This turned out to be a really good challenge, and I'm glad people stuck with it. It went from 1:43 isn't possible to 8 drivers in the 1:44's or better. Good work guys!

I'll post the next challenge tonight, and think I'll stick with a stock car you can buy with no mods. It's kinda frustrating to an extent, but keeps the playing field level. I already have something in mind, but want to do it first to see if it's actually a challenge. Cheers!

We should have the best of those who use a wheel and those who use the controller, im pretty sure there is a huge difference in play between the two at least for me there was.

I have considered making a poll of who uses what. I'm sure wheel users have an advantage in some areas, but fwiw I use the controller.

I use a controller lol I hadn't touched the game in 3 months til this came up, cant really justify buying myself a wheel to shave .5 off my times haha
Though I'd wish I could get some better throttle control

We should do a zonda on this track, talk about fast times lol

                Mine?

                Standard i think
                downshift-L2
                Upshift-R2
                Gas-X
                Brake-square
                Steering with the joystick

I've tried joystick gas/brake lol never worked right with me

                  X - throttle
                  Square - brake
                  Circle - e-brake
                  Right trigger - upshift
                  Left trigger - downshift

Emerson, I hadn't thought of going that high up the performance scale, but you've got the wheels turning. I just bought one of those the other day and haven't driven it yet...

It's a free car in the arcade mode. Love that thing. I was able to do a 1:14something with it like to see what others can run

Same experience, I never have been able to use it effectively. If I spent a some time working on it I could probably get it and improve my times, but hasn't seemed worth the effort.

The track will definitely be changing for the new challenge, but I'm not sure to what yet. I'm going to shoot for a similar length track, at least in terms of lap times. I don't think we can do arcade mode though, given what someone said about it before. If you don't have to run a clean lap it kinda defeats the purpose.

You still have to run a clean lap in arcade Im pretty sure. Do top gear track and the zonda

pro tip for the controller - R2 for accelerate L2 for brake gives you much better control. in my controller days I recall using that with square/X for shifting.

I experienced typical clean lap violations all over the place in arcade, but I haven't been an avid user for quite awhile so I'm not sure on the arcade vs gt mode.

If we do a slower stock car like the 135, maybe go with better tires at least?

                            I'm using the Forza setup. R2/L2 is Accel/Brake. Square/Circle downshift/upshift.

Not a bad idea... I'll try it tonight and see what shakes out.

The tires are the part that make it difficult. If you can just put the power down easily in cars like that then there isn't as much challenge in getting a solid lap time. That's just my opinion though.

I use a wheel everyday at a friends house (driving force gt). But all my times were set on a controller. I think a 1:43 dead flat on a controller is damn good!

Also I agree.. sticky tires on a car like this 135i is fun and all but the car is so much easier to control that it is less of a challenge
