Happy 10 year anniversary to my e30!

It's been 10 years ago this month that I got my e30.

Christ I'm sick of that thing already!!

But it's just so cool having something that's going extinct.
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

I'm headed there at the end of the month. Actually, looking fwd to it.

Up here tho, they are pretty rare as they don't last nearly as long as they do down south.

Congrats on a decade of bittersweet ownership experience, punctuated with brief flashes of excellence, followed usually by long periods mechanical dormancy.

            How was it?

Jkjk, that is a long automotive relationship. Good stuff.

If I could do it all over again, I dont' think I would have chosen a different car.

At the time, i was also considering an 84 Volvo 242 GLT with something like 40k miles on it. It was prestine and would have had to be shipped up from Florida, but it was really clean.

I'm glad I didn't. I went with my mechanics advise and stayed with the BMW. My main reason was that the plastics used on Volvo's aren't as strong as those on the BMW's (interior trim pieces, light assemblies etc.). Not to mention most parts Volvo wasn't making anymore, so i had to rely on aftermarket chinese made parts...no thank you

Whereas with the e30, most of everything I can still find from the dealer or aftermarket.

JIZZ. I'd love me a mint 242. N/a glt, or turbo glt whatever. i'd likely swap it for a b230ft and do a 16v head.

funny, i almost went for a 242Ti before snagging the e30, myself!

i currently daily my family's 1992 245 euro deliv. car. same car i came home from the hospital as a newborn in.
