    2013 Tax Return Thread

I didn't see a 'what are you getting with your tax return' thread for this year, point me if wrong.

So what are you doing with your tax return money?

I'm getting much more than I've ever gotten back this year, and it's pretty exciting. I just had my baby boy so that also gave me an extra $1000 credit back, of course that money went into his savings so we can build an LSx E30 for him or help pay for college/travel when he is older.

Some of the money is going to important E30 items: center console (been living without one), new leather shift/e-brake boots courtesy of Josh, and hopefully cleaning up the valence and finding a Volvo lip. Also some regular maintenance.

I've been wanting a DSLR for the past 10+ years, and so I finally ordered a Rebel T3i and a few little goodies.

And at this point I still have a majority of it left. Trying to save a good amount of it, but there are a few things I've been really wanting for a while.

Trying to find a nice used air compressor. Found one this morning but it sold before I could get to it.

And I'm debating replacing the desktop PC I built when I was 10 with a pretty powerful machine for graphic design, music, programming, and some gaming. Have all the parts to build it selected, and it's going to set me back a good $900 + ~$250 if I go for a nice 27" monitor. I really want to do this, but it's a lot of money.

Enough from me, tell me r3v, what are you planning?

Not really sure what I am getting back from the feds yet, but its all spent allready in paying my state liabilities.

The bigger question is what was your total tax burden for 2012?? I think I filed long form this year because my state tax paid was going to be so high

            Nasty habit brother.

My tax burden went out the window because I have a kid and don't make a lot of money.

I love old Jeeps, but not a fan of tobacco. It killed three of my grandparents before I was born and had a bad grip on both my parents for years. My dad still fights it to this day. I'm happy to see anyone get off it, but you can't change the world ha.

We're only getting back what we paid in taxes more than what we are required to pay. Although there are a number of factors that lower what we "owe" in taxes and special credits available. Lots of blowjobs too.

Tax deductions. My child car costs used to be $1200 per month, now $600, and the government lets you write off around $7600 of that, so in my 35% tax bracket I get 35% of that $7600 back right there. Add RRSP, union dues, professional licensing costs etc as deductions, it adds up.
