    Telling Yourself No

How do you guys do it?

Craigslist is sin for me. If something pops up local/semi-local that is a good deal I have to have it and I'll find a way to do so.

I currently have 6 set of wheels not on cars, a pair of wheels, and a single 21" Alpina wheel that I couldn't walk away from. It's shameful.

    I got a set of BBS RS005/6 wheels for $200. A set of E38 Style 5's for $50. A set of Corrado BBS RZ's for $60. A set of 15" Ronal R9's for $60.

These are deals that an enthusiast can't pass up right?

I have probably 20 or so alerts set up on my phone for keywords on Craigslists local to me. And when something pops up that's a good deal I usually start shuffling money immediately to figure out how I'm going to afford it.

The only thing that works for me is to wait a couple of days until I calm down and let the "high" subside.

Eventually I will be on A&E as the first wheel hoarder. Powdercoat filling my lungs, sleeping on a mattress stacked on wheels in complete denial that I need to stop.

Came here to say this. I almost bought a muffler for $20 yesterday because it was a good deal, but more power in the future is more important.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

So I need to get rid of all my excess money so I don't waste it on CList purchases? Duly noted.

Don't buy shit you don't need. That simple. You will find that you have extra cash for the things you do need.

Easier said than done. I'm just saying how do you reason yourself out of a deal you have convinced yourself you will never come across again.

Those are good deals and you would likely be able to turn a profit on them if you wanted, so with the examples you have listed I don't see a problem with it as long as your bills are being paid and you're not constantly hurting for cash.

                Otherwise stop now.

The question is what are your goals? Does purchasing an item help you achieve them? If your goal is to find CL deals and flip then by all means. If it's to find stuff for your car, then what is your goal for the car? Fuh raze, bling cruiser, stanced piece of shit?

Bottom line: have an objective for your purchases and go towards that.
