So that's what happened to motorex. Remember hearing about the start up and seeing 2 skylines around but then they dissapeered. Seemed shady after all the hype and then nothing.

Two weeks ago I went to a datsun swatmeet in eaglerock, two skylines ended showing up a C10 and C110 with RB26 swaps. I jizzed myself when they left! I wonder if their cars passed smog..?

Basically,
-R32/R33/R34 skylines are illegal to be driven in America
-There is an exception for the late model R33's but you need to convert it to OBDII and have the plate in the doors modiffied by an approved shop. This is because the R33 is the only one that was crash tested and approved for U.S. roads after such modifications.

This is assuming the car was imported legally in the first place (meaning it would have to be straight off the boat as most of the ones floating around weren't)

Back when they were all the rage being imported left and right, the main company got overwhelmed with all the demand and shut down. After delivering cars to many owners without performing the required mods, the business shut down and the government got sick of the whole fiasco; pretty much said if yo see one crush it.

There are very few legal ones here in the U.S. and making one like the one's in Archies tow yard legal would be impossible, since they technically never finished the importing process and are therefore considered "contraband"

Pretty much this. I think it's BS considering the number of grey market euro cars driving around nobody cares about. Granted I understand, different era and regs, still bugs the shit out of me.

The way I see it is, those cars aren't legal to be registered or street driven, but aren't illegal to just be here. So why crush them?

No way, they got to get crushed.
All parts can come off but the motors and frames must be crushed. The rest all goes to my company.
