If you are drooling over Skylines just pick one up from Canada. There are plenty in Canada and you can get a GTS-T for about $5000. They are getting cheaper all the time here because it is getting harder to get insurance on RH drive cars, especially high performance cars.
RH drive is a pain in the ass anyways.Comment

Seriously, there needs to be a big movement that gets the entire car-loving community to reach out to legislators to amend or abolish such laws that end up crushing these and other great pieces of engineering and design. There probably isn't a single car enthusiast holding a government position, it's just sad.
I can understand enforcing laws on emissions, traffic safety, and requiring the manufacturing of new cars to meet certain safety standards, but when it comes to existing cars, especially ones that are obviously as safe as any other car out there, why can't they just leave things alone? It's as if the government views imports as weapons or drugs. Instead of employing people to enforce these retarded laws, it seems much more economical to simply make enthusiasts pay a little extra to own and drive something like a Skyline or other unique import. I doubt anybody would complain about that, and how much more paper work could it really be to make it all happen? We're not rewriting our Constitution.

I wish they made the R34 in left hand drive. That's my personal fave. I'd sell the X5 and the E30 for one of them, and just tow the snowmobile with that. Hmmm, does anybody make a trailer hitch for an R34 GTR?"I think we consider too much the good luck of the early bird and not enough the bad luck of the early worm."

The fed doing it's goon squad on crushing cars for no reason. Just like when the Porsche introduced the 959. Back in the 80's there were reports of 959's blasting our streets till DOT caught up with them and crushed em.Comment
-
Dunno about that, most of the imported 959's were either sent back, modified, parked indefinitely or seized and mothballed until the 'show and display' thing was created. The DOT kept Bill Gate's infamous 959 in storage for like 15 years IIRC before returning it to him.Comment

No pics until the investigation is complete with the police. Then I'll post up a few.88 M3 Diamantschwarz

The difference being the 959 is a half million dollar ultra collectible supercar owned by famous tycoons, whereas the R32 Skyline is a $5000 track beater owned by bros. The feds knew what the Porsche was, they don't care what the Nissan is.Comment

I dunno about parts NLA or how easy/difficult is to get parts for these cars but I do know I once drove my friend's R32 GTR with the the RH steering wheel and was weird to drive it specially on roads designed for LH cars. He bought the R32 in two pieces, I mean, it was cutted exactly in the middle to be able imported and to be sold here as "pieces" but he ended up welding it back (it wa dcutted profesionally and removed the carpet, drive shaft everything to avoid damage) nd now it's converting it tow LH, just like every Japan specs cars that come down here and are converted to LH steering wheel.
He even had a WRX STi Spec C RA (jap specs) converted to LH as well but not cutted in two pieces (the R32 was the exception because it was imported way later than 5 years old which is the mximum allowed by the law).
EDIT HEre are few pics from my other friend who used to have this R33 2wd that put over 600 WHP! It was insane... converted to LH steering wheel.
DOUBLE EDIT: Here is the R32 GTR still with the RH steering wheel
