Any interest in attending vintage races?

    Hey everyone,

The vintage race season is getting ready to start up again, and I thought I would check here and see if there would be any interest in me giving a heads-up about the dates and locations of our events. We run with a variety of organizations and at a large number of tracks all over the Northeast and Canada from next week until Thanksgiving. We see everything from early-1900s Grand Prix cars to Audi R8 prototypes, depending on the event.

If there is interest, I could use this thread to give the info like a week in advance. Most events are either free to attend or cost a small amount (≈$20).

    So what do you think?

I'd be interested in events at Watkins Glen or points south.

Heck yeah! I know a few people who would probably want to go as well.

Vintage racing is where its at. Good crowds (but small crowds), awesome cars, and great racing. I wish I could afford to do more of it.

Yeah, I'm hoping to get on track myself once or twice this year. Best chances for me are Summit Point and Pittsburgh International. We'll see if I actually have any money when those events arrive though. Do you have Bob Sharp livery on the 2000?

I've been to this event the last couple of years, as a spectator. I'm planning on going again this year. It's definitely worth it.

I lead a group of a dozen or so to the Watkins event every year. Great times, great racing.

Nope, its a BRE spin off.

My race license is actually expired. The race clubs that will willingly allow the car are all down south, the one northern Ca group CSRG has a cut off date of '67 for their cars. Even though the 2L roadster did come out in late '67, and is mechanically identical as well as some body parts being interchangeable with my '69, they'd rather not let it run. Its an exclusive boys club and if you aren't one of the boys, or have a super historically significant car, they tend to be a bit snooty.

I'd love to run with VARA, but the furthest north they come is Buttonwillow and that is a 5 hour drive south. Its just too far away for me to play without having a truck and trailer to haul the car down rather than driving it down.

The cars look great; I always thought the old Fairladies were cool little cars. The 2000s are pretty potent, too.

I went in 2011 (I'm a Datsun nut) with my Parents, and aunt and uncle. Even my mom loved it. Meant to go back last year but missed it :(
