    Rutgers b-ball coach

Anybody else hear about this? I caught it on the radio the other day and just saw this video for it. I've seen irate coaches before but this is over the top. Calling his players fags, fuckin fairys, bitch, asshole, you name it! The one thing I wondered though is why out of all these instances that he was treating the team like shit, nobody thought to clock this jackass in the face? Its awful weird that nobody stood up to this guy until this footage has been released.

Anyone else have any thoughts about it?
Video for those that haven't seen it.

He was also chucking basketballs at them, even at their heads.

Funniest part of the video is when he chucks a ball at one student, another student is standing right next to coach, and reloads him as soon as the ball leaves coach's hands.

If he was a real coach he would chuck chairs at them.

If student-athletes are held to a certain standard of behavior so should the (highly compensated) coaches. This was brought to light by one of his assistants, an ex NBA player. If someone that has played at the highest level of the game doesn't find this to be standard motivational techniques it probably isn't.

There is also the fact that he was throwing balls at the heads of players that weren't in a position to protect themselves.

As Matt Bowen (former NFL player, now analyst) said, there was no teaching going on there. It was just a moron getting taking advantage of his position of power over a bunch of kids.

Regarding why none of the players stood up to him or "thought to clock him" they're there on scholarships. Would you really throw away your scholarship (and any chance to go to a decent college even if you're paying) over this?

He deserved to be fired but a player hitting him would have been stupid on their part.

You're right, the coach should have put the players in time out. :|

                      .
Yes the millions upon millions of dollars he was PAID to play a GAME FOR A LIVING should have been enough MOTIVATION for him so he didnt need to be yelled at for fucking up so one might say his standards might differ slightly .

I'm not saying the yelling and shit is wrong, my hockey coach was a retired marine and yelled at us every damn time we had practice. But if hes having to throw fucking basketballs at his players, hes obviously not doing something correctly if he players aren't listening.

As a coach, I can say this guy is a complete disgrace to coaching. There is no reason to do what he did. There are other ways to motivate.

I for one am happy he got fired.
