It's not balls he has to grow. Everyone does it with the intent of getting a penalty against the other team. Whether it be ball control, free kick, penalty kick, or a yellow/red card as shown here. He just got a forward kicked out of the game.

absolutely right. i played soccer in high school and was always a stubborn very competitive player and would be on all fours clawing my way back up to get the ball and never took falls... but now i see the flaw in it, while it hurt my pride to "take a fall" it actually hurts the other team even more.
