So someone left HUGE ruts in my yard.

Two weekend ago someone got stuck in my drainedge ditch when I wasnt home. They couldnt get themselves out, and did they try. They left ruts about 70 feet long, probably average a foot and a half deep. Some parts are deeper than others.

Finally they gave up, and a tow company came and yanked them out. Then everyone said their peace and left. One of my neighbors caught the name of the tow company, RJR towing. So I called them, I worked with the "supervisor" Jonathan. I left two or three voicemails, and I finally managed to get him. He seemed sympathetic and said he could help, and would get the info and call me back in five minutes.

Nothing. I left another three or four messages for him. I call today, and he answers the general contact phone number. He doesnt remember me or my situation. Then he starts to brush me off. So I firmly re-explained the situation.

He told me "good luck finding out if one of my f***ing trucks pulled a car our of my f***ing lawn you dumb country c*nt" and hung up.

The company is RJR Towing and their phone number is 904-782-1200

I've got no idea what to do at this point. I don't want to have to spend the effort and money to go out there and fill in these rets and replant the grass. The police won't file a report because it wasnt malicious or intentional. Which my response was "Isnt that the point of calling it an accident?"

Then police tell me it's a drainage easement, and city has to handle it.

Send gay porn magazines to the address of the towing company...On a serious note, it honestly seems like there isn't much you can really do. I have many people parking on my lawn and sometimes getting stuck there and digging ditches into it. None of these people are given permission to park there, but they do it and fuck everything up and unfortunately I cannot do anything.

Doesn't the city/county/parish/local governing body have the responsibility up to like 3 or 4 feet into your yard?

Funny story, local woman had a deer hit by her house, and it wandered up, into her yard. She called the county and they said deal with it, it's not along (or close enough to) the roadway. Woman called a neighbor who, with her permission, drug the deer to the side of the road and left it. Your move, county. It was picked up shortly thereafter.

They have some responsibility, but typically the maintenance of the lawn is left to the home owner. Not quite sure where something like this would fall.

Does it cause water to pool and not drain into the ditch properly? Thus leaving standing water that could harbor insects that could carry diseases?

I'd be figuring out a way to put a spin on it to get the city to fix it.

          Also, pics of ruts?

good point Slammin. It does have standing water, about a foot and a half on average

I've got some pictures, but I cannot upload them from work

Post the phone number on 4chan.org, along with your situation.

              Profit.

I assume your local news broadcasters have a "Channel 5 On Your Side" or an investigative reporter who helps people with these things etc, call them and explain your situation, even if the company can't be held liable (why the hell wouldn't they as they caused it?) the news team will hurt the company's reputation via a news story on the 6 o'clock news and be persistent enough to the point that the company will fix the situation.

If the company won't help with the news intervention, at least they will help you get to the bottom of it and perhaps push the city to do something.

EDIT: Also, if they won't help after the news intervention, or even still use ripoffreport.com (although you didn't necessarily pay for their services, you paid for their services if you know what I mean) and write a nice lengthy item that will follow them around forever, along with bad reviews on yelp, google, etc.

On the positive side, good to know you have neighbors that watch out for you, in most suburbia's you wouldn't see that sadly.

If it's on the town easement, you need to go to your town hall meeting and explain that it is a health hazard in two separate ways: disease carrying mosquitos as well as a liability because someone could step in one of those ruts and break their leg, which I'm sure would result in a lawsuit for the township.

That's the easiest way. As for the towing company, send that to 4chan, explain the story, fuck that asshole, chances are he's a huge wanker and needs to be reminded that other people exist and shouldn't be treated like dirt.
