It's an E30, any new car is probably going to be faster then it, if you want more performance and are just an old grumpy boring guy then just buy a new car.

Then buy new Performance wheels every year and in 25 years you can bitch about how all the wheels in 2013 were heavy crap and you don't know why any one would put them on their car.

I think OP and kind are forgetting the craftsmanship and general rarity/exclusivity at original release let alone 30 years of vintage these wheels embody.
I don't think tat a grand is expensive at all. But you won't find RS's for that price is what I am saying.

They're still awesome. In fact while they are somewhat hard to come by for older models, some are still available and at a relatively reasonable price. I'd love to have a set of e50s or e26s

I've been seeing the nice and refurbed sets selling for $2000-5000 depending on options and size. It's pretty crazy but people are paying! I know some of these are hard to come by but damn.

Thread title is a bit misleading. BBS make more than just RS.

If money was no object my E30 would be rolling on some 15x8 BBS E30.

                    I want 15x7 or 14x7 BBS e30

Those are probably my favorite vintage wheels of all time.

Sure, I consider that to be expensive, especially when its a third of the value of most of the cars on this board. It would be like me putting $7000 rims on my 911, or $5000 rims on my e90 (notgunnafuckinghappen).

I also lol at the guys on here who act like a G in wheels is chump change (guarantee its not for most) and at the guys who say they got a legit set of RS's for that price. I suppose it could happen once in a blue fucking moon, but to act like RS's are just hanging all over the place for that price is a bit over the top...

The internet has killed the BBS RS's lol

I personally would go full custom Kodiak if I had the scratch. Got a few things that come first though. Like a plane flight to Asia and a month long vacation. It's doable for RS prices.

^ the cost of my car build so far equals to to quite a few sets of "nice wheels", BBS included. Not that I cannot afford them, for me, I spend my money in other areas of my car.

I agree wih that^ Mr. burns is just confused, bbs were my dream wheels and guess what? I built a set and love them :) Alot have bbs but no two cars have the same sizes and offsets. I went wild with 16x9s and the stretch look while others keep it more simple. Your missing the point of bbs rs mr burns and other 3 piece wheels as well.
