Please read this article, even if it turns out the whole thing is too good to be true. It purports that a pair of scientists have found a way to achieve cold fusion with a net gain in energy roughly ten thousand times more than a comparable quantity of gasoline, using hydrogen and nickel.

I know this is obviously not definitive, but just think about the possibilities.
