Bought my first raw selvedge pair of denim back in november. Unbranded UB122 indigos. It was a little tight at first and quite stiff, even though it is only 11oz, but now it has softened up quite a bit. I plan on going the whole year before giving it a bath, but I have some mud spots and I need to clean them up somehow. Any tips on cleaning the jeans without a full blown wash?

Just bought a pair of Levi 501 STF cobalt blue today as well for 30 bucks.

If you wash make sure you catch them before the spin cycle, the spinning pulls the indigo from the fabric and makes streaking lines down the legs.

If it is just mud, let it dry and smack it clean and then use a damp towel and go with the fabric grain. But if you get something gross on them just wash and catch the cycle before spin.

Can't believe I haven't seen this thread until now.

In the last five years, I've broken in a set of APCs, a few sets of Nudies, a set of Naked and Famous, and just ordered a new pair of Rogue Territory jeans. 15oz. is about as heavy as I'll go for everyday wear. And I typically won't wash a pair of jeans for at least 6 months.

Fit is extremely important and I usually won't buy a pair until I can try them on and mentally account for the break-in/stretch that will likely endure over it's life.

I just started working out my legs and am trying to put on 10lbs of lean ham, so I'll probably have to re-up on my jeans. I currently have the legs of a Greek Goddess, and I'm the lightest I've been in 5 years (also not good).

Shit. When did I become such a diva.

I have 3 pairs of Levi 505s. Just got the third pair for christmas, they actually fit right. the other two I've had for quite a while. I don't wear jeans much anymore though, I've been wearing Key pants (premium duck dungaree) for the past couple years for work. highly recommend them, they're pretty durable and are very comfortable.

I'm kinda slim-hipped, so I usually rock a pair of 28/30's they fit just right in the legs and thighs without being too hipster
and all my guy friends say my butt looks really cute in them too

Not sure what's more amazing, this ^ or the fact that I just read through every page....

So if we're gonna be little metro's for a second and talk fashion on a car forum, might as well use to my advantage and have a question answered by those of you that care way more about this than I:

I've quickly worn out about a half dozen pairs of the only jeans that fit me (Diesel/Zathan/LowRise/Bootcut) before realizing your not supposed to wash and definitely not supposed to dry jeans. Always done both frequently.

So if your not supposed to wash them, what am I supposed to do after I stink 'em up? Maybe I'm smellier than most, but after a couple weeks of rotating 3-4 pair -- they smell. Not so much like a fart or BO.. they just have that not so fresh smell.

Thoughts from the jean gods appreciated as these jeans aren't cheap and if i can extend the life of them, bully for me.
