    Flip the vg/pg.

What I hate is that local shops only sell one mix. I can't get the pg/vg how I want it.

Fuck I need to start making my own juice soon.

Oh I'm hip to the Krunkberry !!! Amazing milk taste on the exhale. Just like they say it tastes like the milk at the bottom of the bowl after Crunchberries.

I just built my RSST using stainless steel braided wick and 3 mm Ekowool sheath for the top portion of the wick. Then used .5 kanthal ribbon wire with a 4/3 wrap. Ohmed out at 1.2. enlarged air hole to 5/64ths .

Producing excellent vapor and flavor is spot on with no dry hits. All the way down to the bottom of the tank! I just make sure to roll the juice every so often in the tank so the SS wick can grab stay lubricated.

With the insulated wick hole and ease of build this is a very good entry level beginners Genesis style Atty! If there was a Pyrex tank section for it then it would be even better !

One can make one with an AGA-T 2 Pyrex tank and O ring kit but it involves grinding and sanding down the Pyrex tank .

Smoktech is considering a Pyrex tank but it's still up in the air.

Make some of your own! Just be prepared to make some nasty tasting shiz while in the trial and error stages. Remember , rule if thumb is no more than a max of 20 percent flavoring blend. There are some juices that can get away with more ,but it's more if a rare case.

I hear the rsst is a great beginners genny.

For the price I am scrapping all my D Box puritanks and moving in the direction of the RSSTs .

Then begin to pickup higher end Gennys.

Bleehhh. I just tried The Green Tea from mtb. It was free 12mg nic and 30vg/70pg. This one I could vape if there was more vapor. Weird.
Invest in some spare bottles so you can add the existing juice to a fresh empty bottle and then add more VG as P mentioned. Use a small bottle 10 mil or less and then just figure out the ratio of existing juice to additional VG as you blend and then it will be more vapor production ,but a but less flavor and nicotine.

              Sometimes ya gotta tweak things.

Not a big fan of MT Baker though. Try the plume room

What do you guys usually make your coils out of?

I bought 3mm silica and 28 gauge kanthal last night.

I'm actually starting to like this juice with 6mg nic. It can taste the nic which really throws me off, but after vaping it for awhile I do get a little head buzz as I do from hookah. Just takes a lot longer and its not super noticeable.

Which coils? Regular twisted coil? For the ithaka its 2mm sometimes 3mm (depending on vg/pg ratio or viscosity) german silica with 30/32gauge NR-R-NR kanthal/nichrome. Microcoils: 24-28ga kanthal/nichrome...3mm silica or organic cotton balls I've boiled in distilled water.

He will need a wire welder to achieve that Non-Resistance - Resistance - Non Resistance setup. Cause twisting the 2 types of wires is a pain in the ass!

Great suggestions on wick wire combo though!

Make sure to get the Ecowool due to its braided construction, it is more oval shaped compared to traditional silica wick, however is more flexible and less prone to breakage/degradation.

I have a smoktech rsst tank too....freaking love it. It's a little more high maintenance than my previous tank (protank 2) but totally worth it....which brings me to my question.

Where are you guys buying materials from to build the coils? And what do you recommend for the rsst? Mine came built already (birthday gift), so this will be my first time building a coil. YouTube here I come!
I'm not super into this yet, as far as pg/vg mixes goes.

EDIT: My go to flavor right now is 80/20 vg/pg..just looked it up.

I have a wire welder, but I also knot NR-R-NR. The easiest way is stormys ready wires. I use those more than anything. I've not had a lot of success with EKOwool.

I buy all my wire from TEMco. Silica from a few different places. The vapor mesh company I hear has good prices and selection of mesh.

Surprised that EKOwool has not treated you right! Most of the vape shops are beginning to use it above most other wicking materials . Well locally in the Bay Area that is.
Some type it EcoWool and others EKowool. eBay sellers typically type it Eco. :) So I go back and forth just for giggles.

My understanding of the NR-R-NR wire is so that one can have enough wire to wrap multiple loops of wire and still have a low total resistance of the coil since only the wire that is touching the wicking material is the Resistance wire. The leads to and fro to the Positive and Negative posts are Non Resistance and so that part of the wire does not count towards the total resistive load.

Does that seem accurate P ?

EDIT: My go to flavor right now is 80/20 vg/pg..just looked it up.

I built my RSST using Stainless Steel twisted cable style wick. It is 2.8 mm thick . I cut a section that I could fit down into the tank section and then trimmed the top of it to be just longer than flush with the top capture screw.

Then pulled the wick out and annealed it using a torch . Just wanted to get contaminants off the wire if there were any really.

Then I cut a section of 3 mm braided hollow EKOwool at about 3/4 ". I then torched that section to make it less flexible and hold its shape.

Then I pushed the end of the Stainless Steel braided cable into the center of the EKOwool using a slight twisting motion to allow it to drive up through the center without tearing the EKOwool apart.

I left this section of EKOwool just longer than the top of the stainless steel twisted wick. This section serves as sort of a top cap to help with the wicking properties.

Then I just pushed the side of the wick that does not have the EKOwool on it down into the tank section. Pinched the edges of the EKOwool and torched it again to lock the position and lock the shape.

Since there is an insulated wick hole then one does not have to worry about the wick touching the sides of the deck. Nice feature of the RSST.

Then torched a section of.8 Kanthal Ribbon wire and then proceeded to wrap a 3/4 wrap around the EKOwool. Then when capturing the lead that goes to the top screw I pulled that lead tight so that the wick almost touched the top screw. This is to minimize the jump or distance that the current will flow from the top screw into the cable wrap. This lessens the resistance value of the coil.

It was also important to realize that as I screwed down the top screw it allowed the center pin to also drop down lower and lower and could possibly cause an issue with the center pin on your chosen mod if screwed down too far. Conversely , if the top screw is not screwed down far enough then it will not allow contact to the center pin of the mod.

I found that the perfect amount to leave was when you could run your finger over the bottom of the threaded portion of the bottom connection and just barely feel a small nub protruding.

Then I test fired the coil and check for even heat. Moved coil wraps up and down to minimize any hot spots and once satisfied I primed the EKOwool with juice and filled the tank.

Took some test puffs and really liked what was produced. Pulled RSST and measured out coil resistance and found 1.1 -1.2 ohms.
This is higher than I would like so I will be re-wrapping it with a 2/3 wrap and checking again.

On the protank I figured out something cool.

The wick is basically a stop to hold the juice from dripping out the
coil.. too much wick and it'll burn from not having enough juice flowing to the coil.

So I pulled out about half the wick and there's a ton more flow I guess.
haven't burned the wick yet, good clouds and I've been vapeing hard on it all day.
The tank itself is getting sorta hot from usage.
Doesn't leak out. I'm thinking of pulling out more too

Just something you dudes can try if you're burning wick like I am/was.
