This windows 8 is complete utter garbage. I still do not even know how to make a new tab or close tabs under this "secondary" IE browser. It does feel like xbox live or a tablet. I honestly have no clue what they were thinking.

On another note.. How would I downgrade? What does it cost?
BEFORE you start any downgrading, list the model of Toshiba laptop you have. Specs and such and i will try to help you. It honestly does not sound like it is the OS, something else is up.

Go to malwarebytes.org. Download the free version and run it.
Go to avast.com and download their free version.
This is some of the best and they are for free. This will clean up your computer.
My thoughts on Windows 8 - it is a touch screen operating system

IE sucks aswell but hey its been working somewhat better atleast.

I found out that pretty much every site has some stupid website embedded popup or something along hose lines. While they load after the page, My computer freezes up until the pop up fully loads (10-15 seconds). Is there a way to change how these pop ups load, my blocker is all the way maxed out.
been running FF now for ever, with Norton 360 for pop up blockers and fire wall. IE sucks and I am not giving my life to Google with chorme Bad enough I have android run phones.

Sounds like you have a infection of some kind and its taken over your system.

Chrome + Adblock Plus works really well for me. I switched from Mozilla and haven't gone back. IE is at the bottom of the heap.

What computer did you get? Seems ridiculous that it should perform THAT badly without something wrong with it. Still, I think I'd wipe your drive completely and install a fresh copy of win7. Do you know how to do that? From your posts, it doesn't sound like you have much experience with computers, but it's not hard to do.

Yes, I could see that being very beneficial with windows 8.

I just installed the classic shell.. SO much better. However I often get "IE has a long running script" or some sort of message pretty much whenever I click a link. The computer still runs slow. Any ideas?

I enjoy windows 8 a lot WITH a touchscreen. Without one Win 8 is hard to use, I bought a Surface pro and love it.

I bought mine to replace an HP that kicked the bucket and that was a vista machine. Had we known it would be a tough transition we would have looked for a Windows 7.
