in July I took my first long distance trip. went from kokomo, Indiana to green bay, wisconsin to see some family. I took a long way around just to make the route a bit more scenic and to avoid the awful Chicago traffic and tolls.. ended up being just short of a 1000mi round trip.
I woke up at 4am, printed my maps off, packed a over night bag with 2 days of clothes and some tools, topped my oil off and just want for it.

I had gorgeous weather all the way to green bay, started with a hoodie, it was about 65 degrees out and clear skies.
by noon it was around 75-80 degrees out, so i shed the hoodie and kept riding on. Great scenery, made the miles roll by like they were nothing. Before i knew it i was in green bay

A night of beer and cigars by the fire with the family

a slight hangover but had plans to go kayaking the next morning
this made up for it

kayaking

after a few days of perfect weather it was time to make the trek home. said my goodbyes and hit the road
1000 trouble free miles later I made it back home

next trip I plan to have a camera other than my phone, didn't take to many pictures because I was trying to conserve my battery for music and in case of a emergency... That being said I had the best time of my life. Riding long distance gives me a sense of adventure Ive never experienced with a car road trip. I cant wait for the next one, Im thinking a trip west to Wyoming or Montana. no hotels just a tent and where ever I find to set up camp
but for now the bike is parked cause im in Texas for military training. wont be home until November, so ill be Lucky to have any riding days left when i return

my baby is parked in the garage til i return.
thanks for reading
