My dad grew up around domestic cars, and when I told him I wanted a BMW he smashed me soo hard. After looking for one for a long time he actually came around. He wanted me to get a 2002, or "The one with the round taillights" as he called it.

After getting my first e30 he slowly started to appreciate them. Once I got my four door and we swapped and refreshed a motor together he has a lot more respect for the cars. granted he gives the Germans shit for some stuff, he enjoys these cars a lot and loves the sound the six cylinders produce.

For me personally, I am a car enthusiast and open to all cars. What really makes me dislike other peoples car/them is their ignorance.

Who was the first one to open up the hate fest? Or do you want to go back and change the posts? Essentially the article is stating in different and a longer more round about way the post you just made in the one I first quoted.
If you take what I posted up as hate, then feel free to think so. And no, I'm not going back to edit anything. That's not how to do things around here. Also if you notice, that thread was about liking everything. Be political correct to say. What I stated in this thread was that there are many different car people. I did not state that everyone got along or had to accept everyones ways.

Nobody ever agreed to like anything. Thats different than coming up to you and talking crap, or having a discussion about how lame a fad might be.

Don't fret it. My dad had a 60's Stingray Corvette, numerous 64.5-66 stands, t-birds, etc. then he drove a BMW in about 1988 and never looked back.

Personally, I think it's because they are all about "America - fuck yeah!" And don't think beyond that. I had a Gf who's dad restored and sold cars at Barrett's/Mecum etc. He also raced NASCAR in the PNW - super cool car guy but HATED my bimmers. I took him for a ride in my 95 m3 - modded - and from the passenger seat he was like "wow - that's pretty fast" but didn't want to give it props - it's just a bias/personal thing but I knew he realized it was not just a toy and he acknowledged it. Best you can do.

And I roasted some guy in a Camaro in my m5 the other day. He rolled up being bad thinking it was just some lowered yuppi mobile with big wheels - then he found out it has a v10 and those foreigners know how to build a motor with a lot of power.

              750 low blow, low blow....

This is quoted directly from my English II class last year...

An essay about Oscar Wilde and his play, The Importance of Being Ernest

Wilde believed that facts shouldn’t get in the way of a good story; viewing his play as a work of art to be enjoyed, rather than scrutinized. He believed that, “Artists and writers of Aesthetic style profess that the Arts should provide refined sensuous pleasure, rather than convey moral or sentimental messages.”(Aestheticism Wikipedia)

Relevance you might ask? There is a difference between something that is pleasurable and moral, or sentimental, and something that is pleasurable and dirty, or crude. I'll leave that up to you to decide which styles in the automotive world fit into which category. This world needs less "filth"; it truly is our demise.

They're missing -10° of camber, 195 tires on 11" wheels, tow hooks, and random crap strapped to the roof of their car. :p

10 years ago, "your car has a nice stance" was a compliment. But much like this thread, a certain group made it into something else: look at me! Me! me! me! me! me!

I have nothing against American vehicles.....I own one...or two:

I respect any car guy who does it right and takes pride in their ride. I was young, I wanted to/did stuff that was cool at the time but not so much now but I learned how to work on them. Got bored of cars so I got the first jeep and the rest was history. Now I can afford both and have since gotten involved in AutoX......Damn my hobbies are expensive!

And no offense to those with stretched tires....but I fucking hate that shit....you've all been warned! :D
