    the $5 EGR valve

    So we go to the junkyard and find a rather untouched Audi 5000T, naturally we pop the hood and make sure someone has already swiped the external wastegate. Low and behold there it is, in all its glory. About an hour and a half later we retreat to the gate to make our purchases and end up out the door with the "EGR valve." (as we called it for various financial reasons)....FOR FIVE DOLLARS!!!!!! Heres some pics, enjoy:

              Seriously though saw alot of E30 junk in all three yards today. We went to Mount Airy, Baltimore (the one on the east side of B-more IIRC) and Jessup. Saw some 16x8 ENKEI BBS style multipiece wheels 5x120, various Audi's, 4000CSQ, GTI's (mk1 and 2) a few e30s with plastic bumpers, mercedes amber fog lights, blah blah....good times as always from Crazy Rays.

                              Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's essentially a blow-off valve for a turbo, yeah?

                                  it controls the amount of boost, if the boost gets to a certain pressure the wastegate bypasses the exhaust turbine therefore limiting the boost you can run so you dont go boom
