I work at a Jeep dealer and we sell these things all day long for like $140 or less.

Really? You sure? I've read TONS of stories online of people talking about spending $300+ for this, some as high as nearly $700. Hence why I haven't bothered to even look at it.

I just looked it up, for an 00 Cherokee 4.0, the LDP should be PN 4891412AC which lists for $147.

I can't speak for the labor though, which may be what you're reading.

Maybe so. I could have sworn people were talking about parts only, but it is possible that I misunderstood. Thanks for the information. With this (new to me) info, perhaps smoking it is worthwhile afterall. Won't have time to do it for another couple weeks, but I'll investigate it now. Based on the parts cost info I had before, I didn't see the value. Do you make commission? If the LDP turns out to be faulty, I'd gladly call and purchase from you.

I don't make commission, you're probably better off getting it somewhere online. I've seen them as cheap as like $114 in my brief search.

Zero relevant information that turned out to be the best way to go about your issue?

                      Again, you're welcome.

Or, ya know, you could admit you didn't read my OP before you posted, and continued to show how little you know with the rest of your posts??

As it turns out, these things apparently aren't tunable. Spoke to a couple tuners, and found a few threads online of people attempting to disassemble them, but no success. Motorola box w/3 processors, and is mostly algorith based rather than table based apparently. These guys build stroker motors and get boosted on stock, un-touched PCM's. Part of me is scared to know how they run like that, but apparently they have success with moderate boost :dunno:
