Very lucky driver with a lot of poise under pressure not over correcting after the tire
failure.
Neat that that Corvair had an auto deploying speed brake in the event of a high speed crash, even if that speed brake is the hood.Comment

Open class have to undergo a very stringent saftey inspection for the silver state challenge. I am sure the rig and tires were up to snuff. My guess is freak failure or raod debris, ie.
