Yes I know that he was driving recklessly and killed an innocent man.

My heart goes out to his wife, and his little daughter who I used to say hi to everyday throughout my teenage years.

Also really chilling to see a car that I used to wash every so often in return for some BBQ or spare cash scattered all over the freeway like that.

He was a great guy who made a stupid mistake that night.

I never understood how someone can hit the BACK of another car. At least, with enough force to cause a crash like this. If I was flying up on someone, even if I misjudged when to brake, I would still be braking when I hit them and would continue to slow down, short or hitting them at 100.

i was imagining this happening before i clicked through to the article... i'm betting this took place right before the 980 splits off- there's a curve with a rapid elevation change there that i can imagine launching a 7-series if you're dumb enough to enter it at triple-digit speeds.

yeah, this. that's a section of the freeway where i actually obey the speed limit rather than doing the typical 5-15 over... i avoid it if at all possible.
