All I know is that the global media machine did a good job of not letting me catch on to "necklacing" until this very day. Sure he ended his novel well, but what about the chapters in the middle?

Being a South African I'm going to have to agree. Yes he did good and loads of it, but he also did bad. I mean struggle or not he blew up a train station killing 43 civilians. Whether they claim to have had intel that the station was empty is irrelevant.

There is tons to mention, of the bad yet only the good is remembered. I say remember the man for what he truly was. That being a man.

When our fore father do it they are patriots. When someone else does it they are not...lol. What ever. I would like to see how you men would of have handled being blacks during apartheid. Put yourself in the blacks position and tell me what you would have done. Wait it out?

A foreign colonist comes to your continent and makes you "lesser" than to themselves. Treats you like shit. You wouldn't fight? You wouldn't become a "terrorist" to that regime? Ok. Sit back and relax. I guess they will just concede their power. God knows history has shown that the oppressor usually just gives up their power in the sake of equality....lol.

SA E30. "Struggle or not". I'm going to guess your white? It's easy to downplay the struggles of the oppressed when you are not. But I'm going to guess your not. I bet descendants of the native people would feel otherwise. If Im wrong then i apologize. To those who are offended by my question of race. Apartheid was about race and racism.

killing innocent people is wrong. Period. But to sit here and believe that the same has not been done during our revolutionary war, civil war, taking of land from the indigenous Indians or during the fight for racial equality is just asinine. I guess some people would look at Indian raids and killings during our carrying out of manifest destiny as wrong...wow.

It's hard to ask equality when you don't have a seat at the table.
