I know what you mean about the ride, However it does have a much shorter wheelbase and a smaller curbweight. It's easier for it to get thrown around by bumps and dips. It's a very raw driving experience, very similar to an e30 m3. This past weekend I rode in an s2k with KW v3 suspension. Rides twice as good as stock! Almost up to par with its german rivals.I think I got mine on 12/10/13. One thing this car does NOT do as well as a BMW is the ride/handling balance. My E36 M3 with 750/950lb coilover springs rides better than my S2000 on fresh stock suspension. When I say "rides better", I mean impacts are more severe in the S2000. Road imperfections and bumps are not absorbed nearly as well by the Honda.
