    Same Fountain, I just can't decide which angle I like better.

    Taken at LA's famous Olvera Street. The kid was so cute, he couldn't reach the fountain so his father came to help him. I asked before hand if I could shoot the kid as he sipped the water, and the father said alright. Turns out I got a better shot from it.

    Comments and Critiques welcome and greatly needed.

            I think the first one would be better if the background wasnt so busy.

                  Joe;

                  Good stuff, but I would still encourage you to work on your backgrounds. Obviously it's not always easy to do, but the difference between a good and a great photograph of the same subject can sometimes be as simple as an uncluttered background.

                  I think the lighting on the first fountain shot makes it much more interesting. The angle is also better; there's no question that it's at a skewed angle. In the second fountain shot, the neck is obviously leaning and that throws off the squareness that the vertical frame would have otherwise lent to the image.

                  Good color in the drinking fountain shot. Background is cluttered, though.

                  As far as the beer shot, I think you're relying way too heavily on the fisheye lens to give the shot interest. Besides cleaning up the background, the very first thing that popped to mind was to have the guys holding clear glass beer steins filled with water...or maybe guys laying around looking drunk on "the morning after" with a ton of empty water bottles all over instead of beer cans.

                  Just my $0.02.
