Signed up here to get some good info. Just bought an 86 325es. This is my second BMW. My first one was a 91 318is. It was the most fun car I've owned and I have owned close to 50 cars so far. Sold the 318is about 7 years back. I still mis that car to this day. My 325es is not it but will get me close. I've always loved the looks of the e30 the best.

My first e30 was a white '91 318i. Great car. You get points for not being that guys, who's first post is "Hey guys, what the best engine swap, and where is the battery?" lol
These cars are a blast. Have fun man.sigpic

The 318is I had was to much fun. I would race it all the time. It would come off the light like a scared rabbit. I felt like I was one with the car. I could slip the clutch just right and be gone. Everyone calls bull shit on this but it 100% true. I took out many a V8 Mustangs from stop lights. They would try to get traction off the like and I would be gone.Last edited by Dakotademon7; 01-11-2014, 07:19 PM.

I'm learning a lot of cool stuff but the one thing I'm getting mixed info about is what would be the best ratio rear I should swap into my 86 325es. I read one post about one ratio being the ticket and then read another one that says that it will make first gear to short. I would like to have nice take off but don't want to hurt the gas milage to bad. I know I will lose some but don't want to turn it into a gas hog. I found it can take a good bit of detective work to find the correct answer.
