When I think of Oxymorons, I think of such things as "pretty ugly", "awfully good", "beautiful rainy day", "A just War", "a new classic", "bitter sweet", "butthead", "clean coal", "comedic tragedy", "crisis managment", etc. Those are some quick examples of putting opposite concepts together. Just recently I've realized (really lived) the biggest Oxymoron ever. Wait for it...."sexless marriage". Why does this happen? The universe makes no sense! Get rid of humans, then maybe it will.

I think you dont quite understand what your saying here, or your understanding of the meaning of words is severely lacking

1) " pretty ugly" Pretty is often used ironically and that is the meaning you would apply to this statement based on context See #5

2)"awfully good" The root of the this word is Awe Not awful. There for the definition is more indicative of Good or extreme.

3) "beautiful rainy day". Its obvious to me that you have never had to work outside everyday to make your living. When its raining its a beautiful day because you get a day off or can go in inside and catch up on shit that needs fixed or work in the shop. Also just because its raining does not mean there is no beauty in that day.

4) "A just War" Yes using force to stop a genocidal ass hat from exterminating an entire religious group is not a just cause is it.

we often have bright sunshine with some showers coming down, and if its monday-wensday. the rain helps the dirt track clay soak up moisture DEEEEEEP into the racing surface, plus I collect rain water into my cistern (no city water in the rurals) so rain fills my cistern and keeps the cost low on buying a load of water :)

disagree, rainy days can be beautiful !

p.s. some of the dutch christian farmers here, say rain is just pennies from heaven! helping the crops !
