I have a friend from Ontario canada, who lives in Georgia now.
I bug her when I see stuff like this, but I WILL defend those southern states. cause there isnt a snow plow, OR SALT or SALTER for a hundred KM.
they have to wait for the natural heat to melt it all.
Tough day Atlanta?

bingo. Who's the big winner? not the southeast.Because the roads are solid ice, and you're kinda fucked if you don't have studded tires, which no one down there has. Not even the Northeast has ice like that. Rain will make the roads more slick than usual, but ice makes them frictionless.
From another thread on here:
His neighborhood is a skating rink.Leave a comment:

People are terrible at driving in the rain pretty much everywhere. Abandoning mass amounts of cars on the side of the highway because you haven't moved in 5 hours should be national news. There are other southern cities that were and can in the future be affected by a storm and pro government planning. It needs to be highlighted and learned from.Leave a comment:

People down here suck at driving when the roads are dry and the sky is blue. Throw some snow and ice into the mix and yeah, you've got a clusterfuck. It took me 7 hours to get home from work; not because I suck at driving in the snow, but because the roads are literally flooded with cars.
I was getting it pretty good on some backroads, though. Should have brought a camera.Leave a comment:

My meteorologist can kick your meteorologist's ass.
But seriously, hope you guys are staying safe.
Yeah, that is terrifying. Snow is one thing, ice storms are completely different. A month or so ago I was stranded in New Hampshire and wasn't able to get home to CT for 2 days because of an ice storm. Basically a lot of places were shut down and everyone was advised to stay off the roads.OP has access to the internet. Op should read and research for 5 minutes before starting a thread. You want to be a shock jock? Thats fine. OP is now a shock jock because he sits behind a screen and likes to type crap.

And about 6yrs ago I had to drive home from a bar with about 1/2" of ice on the ground. A normal 5-10min. ride home easily took me an hour.Leave a comment:

Please refer to my earlier post, OP's attempt at humor was sorely lacking.
Are we being big babies here? Completely inappropriate jokes are always welcome, but to get a good reaction, they need to be funny.
It usually takes some modicum of intelligence and wit to make a funny quip.
OP is a failure in this regard.Leave a comment:
