    Bald Eagle Cam

    Bald Eagle cam. :)
Nest Cam 1 displays a close-up of the eagle nest and is equipped with infrared (IR) technology that allows viewing at night. This light spectrum is outside the viewing range of both bald eagles and humans. The Berry College eagles nest in the top of a tall pine tree situated between the main entrance and the parking lot of the Steven J. Cage Athletic and Recreation Center.

They really are. There are a grouping of trees just down the river from our place that has replaced the trees that were on our property that were taken down in a flood a few years back, but they are on a curve in the river where many large predatory birds hunt/fish on the river from. We regularly see golden and bald eagles, few types of hawks, ospreys, falcons, owls, and have been known to have a whole town of escape artist ligers. No lie.

But seriously, We have had neighbors that have lost small dogs to eagles, no lie.

yup, When I lived in Anchorage, Alaksa, we called the little dogs "Eagle Bait." I remember I read a newspaper article where an eagle had the dog, but the woman had the leash. She ended up winning the tug of war, but the dog died of it's bleeding from the talons.

When I was visiting my sister in Vancouver, the local paper had an article about digging your fish pond deep enough that the eagles wouldn't get the fish.

My brother-in-law and I agreed that we'd stock the pond just to see the eagles come and grab the fish.

Locally, a hawk grabbed a pigeon off the gutter above my head, about 6 feet away. Surprised me but I bet it surprised the pigeon more.

Last week, a Barred Owl slammed into my front window. Surprised everybody.
Lots of Snowy Owls in the area apparently, but I haven't seen one yet and I've got a half-acre of nice fat squirrels.

Saw a Bald Eagle only once, it flew over the lake in lake Areowhead, Cal. People who all saw it were in awe! Such an awesome sight!

I saw a hawk sitting on top of a pigeon that I'm sure he had just killed. I was about 20 feet away from the hawk and we were just staring at each other. I swear he was transferring some of that hawk power over to me. Anyways some unaware guy approaches nearby and startles the hawk. The hawk then flies off with the pigeon at his grip. I was in awe, didn't know they'd kill and eat other birds. I was amazed!
