Adventures in the Trooper this morning.

Well, work was cancelled, which rarely happens in the Railroad industry as I am told...

SO these are the events that unfolded between 7 and 8 am this morning.

    Stepped out to this.

First stop, take the dog for a walk... Kind of.

To give you an idea of how deep it is.

Next stop, Dunkin Donuts for some coffee!

    SHIT. Closed.

Let's try walmart, as they have a DD.

They are open, but that would mean getting out of my nice warm Trooper. Pass.

Then I tried to help push some guy out of the snow. He though his AWD Escape was a monster truck and got himself royally stuck. It didn't work out, and I got tired, so I just passed everyone else. The photo below is not the guy I helped.... Forgot to take a photo of that one.

Maybe Starbucks can help me with my addiction?

    Nope. Doubleshit.

    However, Orion is happy.

At this point we decided to head for a park. By we, I am referring to myself and man's best friend.
We then pass another person who was unprepared.

Now we're at the park. Had it all to ourselves!

    Lonely road

This is Orion returning after chasing a family of Deer through the woods and me yelling at him to return. He did... When he was damn good and tired.

I then decided I had had enough fun abusing my truck and turned in for the day. She did well!

But I didn't return before doing donuts on an empty road!

And mandatory pictures of Orion before we brought him home, nearly 5 years ago.

All in all, fun day. This little Isuzu Trooper is living up to it's name!

nice Trooper , you have a LSD in yours? i have a 93 5spd without LSD in back does fairly well in the deep stuff but i think it would do much better with the rear LSD

No LSD here, just really expensive tires lol.

I would love to throw one in, but I promised myself that all I would do is the 2" lift and tires. So far it has done exceptional considering the open diffs.

i've casually been looking for a good manual Trooper since you first bought yours, to no avail.

It took me a few months of looking to find this one. There's a shit tone of automatics out there though.

If you do find one, I recommend a SOHC model. The DOHC has more power but they have serious oil burning issues. This one has only drank a half quart since I filled it with M1 15w40 3200 miles ago.

then there's the ARB Airlockers for the front diff ,that with a LSD rear would make it a beast

yea i just have nice oversize Michelin snow tires on mine and its still fun and very capable just have to know the limits and not get stuck

                      GY Duratracs.

Only downside I could find to them is that the sidewalls can be punctured easier than other tires....

But this isn't as rock crawler, so no worries! I do need to get one patched though, picked up a rusty shard of metal at the yard a week ago. Yay for full size spares!
