    Senioritis

Senioritis: The giving of little to no fucks about school during your senior year.

Ex: The doctor diagnosed Jimmy with Senioritis after he learned that Jimmy partied, got drunk, smoked pot, banged chicks, and lived life with reckless abandon giving little thought to school during his senior year.

I am a college senior, currently enduring my last semester. I with a very good job lined up in my field of study (finance). My Overall GPA is 3.25 and my major GPA is 3.6.

Is there any reason for me to try and give a fuck, rather than just coast through?

Seriously, I want to do well, but I just don't see why I should be killing myself when I can just as easily be a bum all semester with no consequences than a slight GPA dip. I have a shit ton of hours, and there is no way the 15hours I am taking now could dramatically impact my GPA.

Any other R3V college seniors on here?

Just because the finish line is in sight, it does not mean you jog in to the tape, you run through the gate, at full speed, don't be that guy, and don't try scoring any random CL massages either.

As someone who graduated in December, it's hard. The reason not to: your GPA and what you will learn. Where you are now is pretty good, but know that you may well need to get a masters or MBA (there can definitely be ceilings in finance, depending on what you do). It doesn't matter if you don't think you will now, time changes things. Keeping your GPA up will greatly help your chances of getting into a quality program.

The second part is that employers don't care about your degree, they care about what you know. Your senior level classes are frequently the ones that are most applicable to real life. The more you know about the topics (even if you don't think you'll need them), the better. You never know when it will come in handy or where life will take you.

Seriously. Don't be the stereotypical lazy American that "just gets by". I don't see a reason to kill yourself to get top grades, but coasting and "just" passing is bullshit.

If the classes are things you will use in your future/job don't half ass them they are there to make you good at what you will do. If they are less than critical to your future I would be lying if I said I put my whole heart into them my last semester or two of undergrad. Also that GPA isn't really that important, I rarely look at it as a measure when we interview people at my office especially if they have some experience. The place it may have slightly more impact is if/when you decide to go back for an MBA or masters in finance GPA's are looked at a little more there.

Well put, I think this is what I'll be doing going forward. I've busted my ass to get where I am, no reason to be a bitch now.

P.S. The CL massages are the one thing that has kept me relaxed through college....especially the happy endings.

Same, high school senoritis is something I went through and now regret it. And now that I'm a college sophomore I know that it'll be hard once again, but just gotta push through it. I wish I didn't goof off my senior year, screwed myself out of a lot of scholarship money. smh...

                      fixed.

what the hell is up with all these slacker threads all of the sudden? its getting annoying.

being a student is your job right now. get the sand out of your waffles and just do your job. what the hell else do you plan to fill your time with? x box? stroking dicks? your mom paid for those classes you are taking. make her proud boy! if you were my son, i would stick my size 12 hiking boot about 2 feet up your ass. if i was your future employer, i would look at your transcripts the day you show up to work. seeing shitty grades the last semester, i would assume you are a lazy ass and send you packing.

while you are at it, why don't you think hard and see what other opportunities you can squander.

end thread! christ! what the hell is the matter with you?

Why not actually put in the effort and try and graduate with honors? depending on the school, 3.3 is usually the threshold for "cum laude".

Also, why would you want to wallow in laziness when you're about to enter the working world? You realize you have it easy now right?

                        Brace yourself.

Holy cow people. I applaud the impeccable work ethic you all have, but you don't all need to jump down this guy's throat for what to me sounds like blowing off steam. I'm sure he isn't planning on going full stoner mode and pulling D's in all his classes this semester. A simple reassurance of "keep up the hard work, its worth it" would probably be a little more fitting than the assertion that he will end up cleaning toilets. He's got a decent GPA and has a job lined up in a solid field, and is probably just simply feeling worn down from busting his ass for the past 3.5 years.

None of you can understand feeling a little anxious to just be done with the grind once the end is in sight? I'm not trying to be all 'everyone is a valuable snowflake' here, but you guys are piling on a soon to be gainfully employed college graduate with the same ferocity that is usually reserved for the type of moron who speeds through a residential neighborhood and crashes their car into someone's living room.

To the OP: Don't give up just yet. Keep working hard and learning as much as you can. Sure you have a job lined up, but you don't know what can happen, or what other opportunities might present themselves in the next few months.

I like how everyone responding seems to be a school saint LOL he's just saying relaxing for 4 months of his school career jeez
I would say as long as you pass your classes, fuck it.
it doesn't get any easier after school, so take the relaxation.
                            YOLO

p.s. work places don't care about your GPA (some places do) but all they really ever care about is XP.

you would be the worst for hiring people. Looking at a transcript (nobody looks at transcripts but overall GPA, some do) and seeing a couple C's the last semester when his overall GPA is around 3.5 you're just going to not hiring them, assuming they are lazy although all the evidence points to them not!
                              LOL :hitler:
