This is where I say the president in that movie wasn't conservative. I felt fairly certain that he wasn't a member of the conservative party. I remember there being a pie graph showing the conservative party only had something like 5.7 percent favor and the dominating party had a ton.
Heightened national security is not a conservative ideal. However, it may be a Republican one. Having crazy curfews and cameras everywhere is not conservative. Being conservative is more related to a resistance to change or in dramatic circumstances changing retroactively. Having an all-powerful government is something very new and most likely progressive.

There were some similarities between characters in the movie and people in real life. I don't the similarities were strong enough to say the characters represented real people. I'm pretty sure most presidents ever have been uncomfortable with gays, and, frankly, Bush doesn't hate black people for crying out loud. In order to make such a plot effective, its best if the antagonistic government in the story has resemblances to the current government.

I like the movie. I thought the filming itself was weak, and I thought some of the scene choices were too. But the story itself is a good and strong one. V, while some of his quirks were retarded, was still pretty badass.

I dont think Natalie Portman is anywhere near the "hot" category. Im not into Sci-Fi shit, so I will very likely not see it. But I did hear it was pure propaganda. Either way, bleh. Seeing movies is a complete to-your-face rapeage. I refuse to pay that much to see a movie that I can see a few months from now for free. Unless its a comedy involving Jack Black, Will Farrel, Farelly Brothers directed it, Vince Vaughn, etc. I like rediculous stupid shit to get my mind off of life. :) To give beer a rest for a while, ya know?
