Got free tickets, walked out halfway.
Total garbage. It might be worth it for the potheads who thought that "the matrix" was some sort of religious experience instead of a crappy Star Wars knockoff, but otherwise, garbage. The movie seems to think that everyone has an IQ of about 60. Granted, given a number of people I saw in the audience, that wouldn't surprise me.

OMG! - The president is conservative (!!!) (Yes, they make sure to tell you that)
OMG!- HE'S LIKE BOOSH AND HITLER!
OMG! - THE VP IS LIKE CHENEY!
OMG! - THE TALK SHOW HOST IS LIKE RUSH! AND HE TAKES TEH DROOGS!
OMG! - THE PRESIDENT DOESN'T LIKE THE BLACKS AND GHEYS!
OMG! - THERE'S A PRIEST THAT LIKES LITTLE BOYS!
The V guy does some really gay psuedo-shakespear stuff, just like the psuedo philosophy shit they do in the matrix flicks.
V dies, and portman stuffs him into a subway loaded with bombs and blows it up. Yes, they make light of the recent London subway bombings for their movie. That's pretty fucking sick and classless if you ask me, not surprising, but still class-less. Got that last part from my friend as I had already bailed on it. If I had sat through that, I would have lobbed something at the screen.
There, just saved you two boobless hours.

I thought the story was rather heavy-handed, and I saw through the conspiracy around half way through the movie. The denouement could have been a lot shorter. I guess it was visually entertaining, but it came across as a little preachy.

The trailers usually are the best parts thrown together, they looked like a Saturday Night Live parody of a bad movie trailer, the critics are dumping on it worse than chicken wire boy was attacked.
I was never considering seeing it now I am going to avoid it like the plague.

I thought it was a really good action movie, nothing more. For those of you that remember the DC Vertigo comic, it was a very good homage to the book. Lots of good action and special effects, good writing, and I loved V's mask, it was pretty damn cool looking.
Some of you people read too much into movies like this. The Wachowski's weren't trying to make some kind of political statement, nor were they bashing the Bush administration, making light of subway bombings, being anti-American, and blah blah blah. If you want to point a finger at anyone for that, point to Alan Moore who wrote and illustrated the books, nearly 11 years ago. I didn't go to see this movie for it's political weight. I went to see if for the special effects, the action, and for a couple of the actors.
The comic, published in 1995. Long before the London subway bombings, Dubya, and half of the other crap people keep saying this movie is inappropriately addressing.
