Yup, Speed dropped the WRC starting with the 2006 season for good. There's no place to watch it on any cable as far as I know, and unless you've got satellite that gets european channels, you're S.O.L.

direct tv has been asked to start carrying it via Eurosport. check the speed tv forums under the WRC section.

oh man theres actually rally fans here? nice. Well you guys might be a little excited about this then:

A local Grand Rapids guy is going to be racing in the fiesta cup in the actual WRC. He is one of only a few americans to ever enter WRC as a driver, and will be the only american to ever race in 4 WRC events in one season. Hopefully he can do well this coming season. His name is matt johnston, for more info check out http://www.mattjohnstonrally.com/ . He's my good buddies, soon to be brother-in-law. He started out with a little eg6 hatchback civic with a stock integra ls motor. And now hopefully he can find some sponsorship and finish this season strong and hopefully bring rally into mainstream america.

He's a stand up guy who knows his stuff. He has beaten open class evos with his eg6 in many of the american rally events. The REAL WRC is going to be pretty tough but i am sure he can hold his own. Who knows....an american starts winning, maybe some T.V. coverage will come back.

BTW, some background on this guy. He built the car himself with help from a few buddies and a chassis shop. He payed for all his shit himself, towards the end of the season before this he landed a sponsorship with hankook but that ended when he sold his car. On a funnier note, he was running bottlecaps during most of the season. Check out his site and let me know if you guys wanna donate or if you guys know anyone willing to sponsor. I would love to help this guy out, he's a great guy, a great driver, but low on funds.
