Looks like a really nice car. Replace or rebuild the engine and I think you'll still have a really sweet ride for the money.

Box up the broken parts and what not you replace, then send them to the guy with a kind letter saying go fuck yourself you fucking fuck.

I'm sure someone on here in the Philly area could take care of him too.

When going long distance to get a car, I always ask myself, is it worth it to me to travel so far, and turn back. Many people, this salesman included, think that if someone is traveling so far they won't leave without the car. Must always be prepared to walk, drive, fly away and write it off. A plane ticket home can be cheaper than a cheap BMW.

          Ebay is fucking stupid.
Go after him on ebay. They are usually pretty serious about this stuff. Cant believe he can get off just by saying you didn't pay when there is a paper trail.

Usually you can't get shit back if something happens with a used car after you purchase it... But I've seen things where if the seller knew of the problems but did not tell you, things can be in your favor.

Do you have anything in writing of the things the seller said he would do before you got there ie. Oil change, wash, basic service?

This has made my week. I'm not even pissed that the $1300 in parts I just ordered were sent to the wrong address. Thanks autohouzaz. Now I have to wait another week.

Very wise words said slammin. This has been remembered as a valuable lesson and I probably would do it again but not with ebay and not in philly.

Yeah I'm starting to think so too. I was thinking of selling it but I might keep it depending on what else ends up being wrong with it.

Ebay wont do shit. They wont even respond to my calls or respond to my BBB complaint. Fuck eBay. Fuck eBay.

Yes I know. I guess I'm glad it wasn't worse. Although I could have purchased a running engine for cheaper than the timing components. But as I've said many times before, I'll quit bitching and get it together.

Nope. Just a receipt and proof of purchase.

its risky business buying on ebay, I have been screwed once or twice bought a truck, trans went bad a week later i mean 2200 dollars later, bought a bmw that the whole subframe/ bushings were gone/ bondo laid over rust the car looked great at first but few weeks later bondo cracked + new bushings in rear once again another 2000 dollars i didn't plan to spend. you just have to learn the hard way sometimes to thoroughly inspect and walk away sometimes, its hard to walk away when you have gone soo far and i understand why you picked up that beauty, just learn from your experience and buy a 4k car next time you have 6k budgeted
