    Heat Press, Anyone?

Anyone here in the SoCal area own or ever use a heat press before? My buddy just bought one new and said I can use it anytime I want. I've had a box of blank trucker hats for the longest time I want to use. What's it take to get a simple design on the front of a hat?
    This is the model,

    You can
a] buy a sublimation printer, ink, sub. transfer, doodads
b] have someone print out whatever you like and just press it on the hats.
Not all hats work, to pop the sublimation prints on, the white part has to be 100% polyester, although 50/50 blend might work since hats don't get machine washed.

While I haven't made hats, I've made a lot of t-shirts with a press. I always used Siser easy-weed which is compatible with cotton, polyester or any mixture of the two. Cut it on my vinyl plotter then transfer it.

the more poly there is in the hat the better the transfer. 50/50 tends to be a little faded or less opaque. white works best, dark sucks.
