Cracked windshields are more common than un-cracked in CO. Somehow both of my vehicles windshields are still ok. I'm gonna go knock on some wood now...

yes because us northern western states use Class II bank run gravel (they call it sand up here ) which rocks as big as your fist in it for traction aid in the winter time. Its hard to keep windshields and head lights in shit around here in the winter time

hahaha my mom's car got a crack in the windshield, we replaced it and the next day another one showed up. It was amusing.

Honestly I built it just to have a place to sit and listen to Hotline Bling on repeat.

This. We drive until the cracks cause a fixit ticket, then replace, then get new chips/cracks before winter even hits. I had a DD with 63 large chips from gravel and no cracks, we had a cold snap and the whole thing shattered in seventybajillion pebbles of glass.

This. Except this place is so poor they don't even fix it after it turns in to seventybajillion pebbles of glass. Let the car rot and buy another beater. Zero fucks given.
Not similar, but related. One day, I came out to my car and the rear view mirror had randomly fallen off it's mount from the windshield in my S12 and was sitting in the drivers seat. Except, it wasn't the mount that had broken off. It was a CHUNK OF THE WINDSHIELD that went with it.
I replaced it with a roof mounted S13 mirror. But you can see it here.
Still haven't replaced the windshield... Somehow hasn't cracked.
