    Fedex

Sorry just venting...anyone experience this with them?

So I went to FedEx today to send a package to PA. I let him weigh it and he comes back with $6.65 which I don't think is too bad. I hand him my credit card and he swipes it and looks a the back of the card for the 3 numbers that some companies require. He starts entering it and he says that it is not going through. He swipes 3 times and says it doesn't go through.

I call my bank and she says that FedEx has taken 19.95 out of my account, hence the 3 times. The man behind the counter says it can't happen, I put the banker teller on speaker phone. She explains and he still says that it didn't happen. She reads my account 3x, at 6.65, paid to FedEx.

The manager comes over and tells me that he must see my bank statement and my reciept. WHAT? THE MACHINE DIDN'T GIVE ME A RECIEPT. He says he can't do anything about it if I don't have a reciept. So he tried to find my card number on the register, can't find it.

Finally, He tells me to bring in the statement and they will see what they can do. So now I am out 19.95, no package shipped. SHIT!

      Lemme guess, Fedex Ground?

Most worthless bunch of monkey fucks I've ever dealt with. You might as well go out, stomp on your package, and throw it in the garbage, whip out 20 bucks, and light it on fire. You'll have the entire fedex experience, complete with the package not actually getting there.

      They're fucking worthless, use DHL.

True words....FedEx Ground burned me once, they've lost my business for good. DHL is very good as is UPS Ground. Every transaction I've conducted on this forum went through UPS. Not one problem to report.

Actually.... Fedex Ground Home Delivery is the worst. I have had nothing but good experiences with the regular Fedex Ground service.

I should print this out and send it to my local (yes 1 hr drive) grounbd station. They do not even have a place to pick the packages up. I had to wait in there security booth.

            Thanks,

            Tyler

I don't know where a DHL is around Columbus that I can walk to. I would use them or USPS or UPS. Yes it was FedEx ground, I am glad I am not the only one that has kind of a big problem with them.

I mainly stick to USPS. Free home pick-up, and most of the time, I get the best rates with them. I used to use DHL for shipping bigger things, but they started charging a $3 fee for home pickup, and there isn't a DHL location anywhere near me.

UPS @ Staple's has always been great to me.

FYI: FedEx ground is run as a franchise type operation, and has no real affiliation with the parent company. Helps them screw you easier :P

                        In my experience,

                        UPS ground>Fedex ground
                        UPS air<Fedex air
                        UPS, Fedex>DHL

At my job, ups has screwed up so many air packages for us that they send my boss a fruit basket every other month.

It's impossible to say that one carrier is better than another in every city, and with every package. They ALL make mistakes, they ALL have problems, they ALL lose and damage packages.

BTW, you guys realize that the "new" DHL is pretty much the old Airborne Express drivers with DHL uniforms, vehicles and managers, right?? In case you didn't know, Airborne has always generally been considered the crappiest delivery company. Almost all of their drivers (DHL now) are IC's or Independent Contractors. They get paid very little $$ compared to the big boys, they don't get benefits, no paid vacation, etc. A big part of the problem is that since they are independent contractors, it's hard for DHL to maintain direct control over all of their shipments.

Oh, as for the original poster's problem with Fedex billing his credit card. It's a PITA, but you can simply file a dispute with your credit card company and they will not get your $$$.

                          Bret.

I have my card through a credit union and its a debit card (which can be used as a credit) don't know if that changes anything but the bank teller told me they can't do anything about it if it goes through and FedEx takes my money

                              Debit card =/ credit card.

It's a PITA, but it sounds like it's totally the fault of Fedex- get a copy of your bank statement, or whatever proof you can find to show them what happened, and that the $$$ DID get taken out of your account. If they can't help you, ask to speak to their supervisor/manager- don't let them tell you they can't do anything about it, that's BS! No need to be obnoxious about it, just tell them you'd like to have someone correct THEIR mistake ASAP.
