I've been using my HF cabinet (large) for several years now. Here are some suggestions.

-Install a water filter trap onto the air line.
-Be sure your air compressor has enough capacity to supply required air volume
-Replace that stupid cheap media hose with high strength hose. I noticed the hose would "cave in" and cause a lack of flow. Sounds very similar to what is happening to yours. I used automotive heater hose, works perfect!
-Use coal slag, works great. I think its the same or very similar to the Black Diamond stuff.
-For the poor lighting, I use a high power LED lamp. Works great, no heat.

    Blast away!

I had the same issue with my HF set up, I ended up getting so frustrated with it that I tossed it out to the street. Mine was an absolute piece of junk and the gun failed right outside the warranty.

How did you plumb the pipe into the bucket?

The 4 inch piece has several self tap screw on the upper lip to prevent it from fallin. The outside is siliconed to prevent media from falling out.
