    Gentlemen,

I have really appreciated and read every comment so far. I have been thinking about how well it would work for me. Even if shit hits the fan, I think id rather experience something different then to regret.

However, I am debating where to go to. As of now, I am very interested in going to Georgia. Likewise, I have pretty much no experiences in anywhere outside of Jersey really. I am debating Georgia because I did love Savannah, cost of living, I want to have options (driving to the beach/city/country so I am not stuck in the middle of nowhere). I feel that Georgia has a lot of potentional with that aspect, It seems to be within driving distance to quite a few cool destinations.

I would really love to check out the west coast and PNW, but as of now I am really just trying to settle on getting somewhere comfortable to start my new schooling, so that I can have a career that I feel stable enough and enjoy so that moving can become an easier option, rather then a flat rate tech hauling a big tool box behind his mk2 diesel.

A friend of mine went to school in Savannah and absolutely loved the town. I have never personally been there but I do hear the summer heat and humidity can be intense. Personally I'm heading west. Going to give California a whirl.

This is a great way to look at it and is what is helping me to do this. I would much rather look back and say "at least I tried" then spend my life wondering if that move could have changed my life.

I think Georgia could be a good fit for you, I'd also consider North Carolina, if I were looking at the east coast.

Add Tennessee to that list. From middle TN It takes me ~6 hours to get to the Florida Gulf Coast, ~4 to get to arguably the best driving roads in the country, and there are countless destination cities within a day's drive or less.

All my friends left my area but then came back because this is where everyone wants to be. Weed and wine.

I would stay out of cali unless you plan on going somewhere rural the cost of living is way too fucking high unless you want to live in the central Valley but that is like living in Mexico. Sacramento and North is okay but still a lot of California is way too expensive to want to live here and actually have hobbies and have fun.

It is actually quite surprising how many of us want to do this. I am moving from FL to CA next weekend. I've saved for a few years and have my affairs in order as I sit. I have friends there at least, but very few.

Hopefully we can all get where we want, as experiences are the greatest asset a man can have.

I'm born and raised in CA, and all I can think about is how to get outa here. Weather is great, but if you like guns or cars, this is not the place to be....

One small shred of advise from someone that has done it. Don't look back and long for where you came from, and don't try to make the place you go adapt to what you expect. Oh, and, change your license plates quick, most natives don't like foreigners.

I like both. I am a Southerner. However, I understand and plan to use it as a means to a greater end. Worth the short term sacrifice in my book.

My wife and I are leaving the east coast with just a van and trailer (plus my car). Heading to Seattle, getting away from a couple of different situations. Both of us are excited, and we're young, so why not?
