some idiot on ebay is trying to scam me

Well I finally decided to sell something on ebay, I had only bought things before. So last night I put a diff up for sale and within 3 hours someone had bought it with buy it now. Sweet, I thought. Then I look at the address and the fucker is in India. I clearly state in my auction that i only ship to the UNITED STATES because international shipping a diff is ridiculous. I emailed him and said that and this is the email I got back:

    hello
thanks for your reply, ok i want you to know my client has a shipping company that he will handle the shipment the check he will include your money and all shipping fees so once again i want you to know the ship the item is include tax, custom, insurance ,and government fees please as soon as you get payment please deduct you money wire the rest to the shipping in dallas texas so please get abck today asap

oh, ok. so you send me a check, then I wire (im not fuckin wiring any money anywhere) the money somewhere, then i find out the check is bogus. sounds good to me.
I thought these scams usually worked the other way, where buyers of auctions would be asked by sellers to wire money rather than paypal, etc.

Bastards, there goes my 3.50 listing fee. Good first selling experience on ebay. I think Ill stick to the forums. If I leave negative feedback, can this bastard come right back and leave negative feedback on my account?

Report him as a non paying bidder and report him to the ebay scam department [I don't know how but I know you can].

You should be able to file for your fees to be refunded.... I had a person trying to get me swindled into their nigerian scam a year or two ago. Reported it to ebay, nothing ever came out of it. The bay has to many of these issues to count and not enough staff (i.m.o.).

All ebay cares about is fees. They will ignore anything that does not cost them money. File npb, & request insertion fees be waived.

ebay leaves quite a bit to be desired.

Indeed. I recently lost $290 on an auction for new swaybars, bushings, mounts, ends, etc... cause the seller dropped off the face of the earth. And while i was trying to get a refund, the 45 days to file expired. Needless to say, after many emails back and forth Ebay refuses to refund the $. I later found out that the seller had also fleeced 3 other people of their money. Just make sure you check the seller's/buyer's feedback first, and look for the Paypal buyback protection logo thingy.

Is filing for a nonpaying bidder and requesting listing fees to be refunded the same process. If so thats all Im going to do. I just want my fees back. I bet it takes a ridiculous amount of time too. This asshole was a zero feedback bidder, is there a way to prevent them from bidding in the future?

Ebay is great for buying things if you are savvy and know how to avoid scams, which I am, but this selling thing is so far just a big pain in the ass.

always use paypal, paypal is much more forgiving than ebay and paypal will persue the seller
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Answer: If you file a non paying bidder alert then the buyer has the chance to still complete the trnasaction within a certain amount of time after Ebay has emailed them. The buyers never do and so you are credited for your insertion fees at that time. Then if the buyer gets 2 more non paying bidder alerts they are no longer allowed to bid on items with that user ID.

Thats why it not only behoves you to file the NPBA , but it may help others that might be scammed by this fucking raghead.
