seriously though New zealand looks awesome Hows the cost of living there?

Hugely variable, depending on the area you're in.

Because we're so small (c.4m people) everything consumable costs the same, and all measurable items like going out for dinner / the price of beer in a bar / etc etc is so similar as to not be worth mentioning.

I am going to assume now that everyone these days uses reddit, so this thread basically covers everything you need to know, any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask me
