*Official* what I broke on my e30 TODAY thread

banging out some smokey donuts in a controled environment after a drift event, I go to straighten out and and the wheel is heaaaaavy.

i'm guessing I cooked my PS pump.

^ Gotta lob off the hoses too and get the fluid out of there or you'll be fighting it big time.

Well my CSB/Guibo are probably due for a replacement and my front end makes a lot of noise.

i have one of those old wooden "door knob" shifters from a euro e21. one of the tabs was broken where it holds onto the shifter ever since i bought it. as a result, the fucker always flies off on my when i do some serious driving. i was playing around with the other tabs trying to get them to hold better and i broke another one off on my own accord. now that shifter just basically just sits on top and falls off if you breathe on it.

i wrapped a few turns of blue masking tape around the shifter shaft to hold the knob on with an interference fit. it now works great!

Mine too. Got worse after I painted the wheels, so I think that's part of it, they're not in good shape and neither are the tires. Driveshaft too probably, I think that's the source of my rear end clunk. And if you haven't, check your ball joints and CABs. My car shook worse before I did the front end.

Also rod knock. Should probably fix that. Probably won't get to it for another 4-6 months :(, so in the meantime, I'm driving my MK2 Jetta... which broke today. Won't go into 2nd/4th, and won't come out of 3rd/5th.

                Everything I own is broken.

My shifter always flies off when I do quick/serious 1-2 pulls.

Sometimes I just yank it off and pretend I had a short-short shifter

I sheared one of my axle bolts putting a different diff in this morning. Torque wrench wasn't tightened all the way and as I was using it, the end had twisted causing it to be set to like 80 ft/lbs. Spec for m8's are like 47 ft/lbs

I iz stupid. I will soon be getting a digital one

                            Nah don't think so.

Fluid is all gray and cloudy.
                            Likely pump.

No belt missing/ left at the scene of the crime.
